We will pick you up in the early morning directly from the entrance door of your hotel in Luxor; you will recognize our driver by a sign with your name in his hand.

He will take you to the jetty of the cruise boat that will take you to Esna – a comfortable cruise boat with all desirable facilities. Enjoy the ride and watch the fascinating landscape and lots of villages passing by while you relax aboard. After some pleasant hours on the River Nile you will reach to Esna.

The highlight of this Upper-Egyptian city is the Temple of Esna which can be found amidst the city, excavated at some meters under Esna’s nowadays’ ground level. Its construction began during the Ptolemaic period and finished under the Roman reign. The temple was dedicated to a divine triad, the God Khnum together with his wife and their son. It was an extraordinarily beautiful edifice, built of red sandstone atop the remains of an older sanctuary. Its special feature is its portico with the magnificent columns with varying lotus-leaf capitals. The pronaos is decorated with great reliefs inside as well as outside, showing among others the Roman emperors of this period as well as astronomic depictions.

After finishing this visit you will enter the boat again where you will get food and drinks; then you can spend some time on deck, sunbathing, relaxing and enjoying the landscape you travel through. In the evening you will be back in your hotel in Luxor.
