Trip to the Nabq Bay Natural
Trip to the Nabq Bay Natural
We will pick you up in the morning directly from the entrance door of your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh; you will recognize our driver by a sign with your name in his hand. He will bring directly you to the Nabq Bay Protected Area.
It is located north of Sharm El Sheikh along the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba, and covers a surface of around 600 km², with both terrestrial and marine areas containing a great biodiversity.
You will go by jeep as you will enter a natural area, and you will enjoy the fascinating landscape around you, with the turquoise sea and its romantic shores, the rough desert and the great Sinai Mountains, the blue lagoons and the green flourishing areas.
See the Wadi Kid, one of the most watered wadis on the Sinai Peninsula and therefore housing a relatively abundant flora and fauna along its length, and discover the famous mangrove wood, a dense forest where countless mangroves are growing around the shoreline. Observe birds breeding here, and maybe even you can see a gazelle or a hyrax…!
You will have lunch in a Bedouin village where you will not only taste the Bedouins’ cuisine, but also have the chance to learn more about their life in the desert, full of privations and nevertheless unique.
Now you will mount a camel and discover the beauty of the Nabq Bay area from another perspective during a ride trough the awesome nature.
After saying goodbye to ‘your’ camel you will go by jeep again until you will reach the coastline. Nabq Bay is one of the best spots for diving in Egypt, as it contains large well-protected coral reefs with various species of fish and other marine animals, and you also will benefit from the rich underwater life. While we stay on the shore you can relax on the lonely sandy beach or go snorkeling. A lot of colorful fish and corals are waiting to be discovered.
Also you can see the old ship wreck of the ‘MS Maria Schröder’ that ran aground on a reef close to the shoreline during a sandstorm around 60 years ago. The water here is rather shallow, so you can approach it by foot.
You will return to your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh in the afternoon.
