8 Days Camel and Jeep Safari to Cairo through the Desert
1st Day: Luxor – Al Kharga Oasis – Al Dakhla Oasis
Al Farafra Oasis – In the early morning we will pick you up at the reception of your hotel in Luxor and you will travel to the Al Kharga Oasis. If you stay in any other part of Egypt such as Cairo or the Red Sea we can of course organize the transfer to Luxor or directly to the oasis for you. You will visit the Temple of Hibis, a well preserved sanctuary built of sandstone dating back to the 5th century BC and Bagawat, a necropolis of the regional early Christians with more than 260 burial chapels. Further you will visit the remains of Qasr Dush dating back to the Greco-Roman era, with its fortress and the well preserved temple. It was once an important crossroad for caravan routes. Then you will see the remains of Qasr El Labakha, a Roman fortified settlement. You can visit among others the large fortress, sanctuaries and some remaining qanats, underground aqueducts which once provided the village and its fields with water. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. In the afternoon you will continue your trip to the Al Dakhla Oasis. You will have dinner there and spend the night in a hotel.

2nd Day: Al Dakhla Oasis – Start of your Camel Safari
After breakfast in your hotel you will enjoy a trip to remains of the Roman temple Deir El Hagar, a sandstone temple dedicated to the Theban Triad, the Egyptian God Amun, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu, a greatly preserved temple with countless interesting reliefs. Further you will see the burial ground Qarat el-Muzawwaqa with its colorfully decorated tombs dating back to the Greco-Roman era. After lunch in a local restaurant you will meet your guides and your future companions, well trained gentle camels. You will now start your safari through the Western Desert. You will pass by the small oasis Wahat Galal, an idyllic green area embedded in small valleys with rufous dunes, and greenish tuff formations. In the late afternoon you will set up camp until you will finally reach the Sillim Hills. After a tasty dinner you will experience the first night under the clear and starlit desert sky.

3rd Day: Camel Safari – Black Desert
You will cross the Sillim Hills and trek through the beautiful Wadi Tayyara. After lunch you will continue your ride until you will enter the Black Desert with its countless rock formations and witness buttes covered by black basalt. In the late afternoon you will set up camp.

4th Day: Camel Safari – Great Sand Sea
After an early breakfast you will ride towards the Great Sand Sea. On the way you will see different kinds of rock. In the late afternoon you will encamp amidst the sand dunes.

5th Day: Camel Safari – Al Kharafish
Today you will cross the Sand Sea and enter the Al Kharafish area, a rocky part of the desert with some smaller hills. After lunch you will head to the Wudyan Al Tin, the mud valleys. In the late afternoon you will encamp.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight camping.
6th Day: Camel Safari – Al Dakhla Oasis
Today you spend a last day with your camel; you will trek through the fascinating desert. In the late afternoon you will say good bye to your companions and we will take you back to the Al Dakhla Oasis where you will have dinner and sleep in a hotel.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight in a hotel in Al Dakhla.
7th Day: Al Qasr – Al Farafra Oasis – White Desert
After breakfast you will continue your trip, from now on in a 4×4 jeep. You will visit the remains of Al Qasr, an old Islamic fortified settlement with various well preserved buildings – houses, mosques, a mill, a madrasa (Koran school) and craftsmen’s workshops. Then you will head to the Farafra Oasis with its lush gardens with palms and fruit trees, the hot springs, the farmers’ dwellings and the very special museum of the local artist Badr who exhibits all kinds of artwork produced by himself and consisting of all kinds of items and materials found in the desert. After lunch in a local restaurant you will travel to the White Desert National Park, a splendid landscape with countless amazing rock formations, idyllic springs and endless desert sands. Once the seabed of an ocean, it features myriads of white chalk sediments, formed by the rough desert weather to spectacular shapes. In the late afternoon you will set up camp in the fascinating area.

8th Day: White Desert – Black Desert – Crystal Mountain – Al Bahariya Oasis – Cairo
After breakfast you will discover more of the White Desert’s beauty and you will have a lot of time to take pictures. Then you will drive towards Al Bahariya Oasis. On the way you will pass by the Black Desert and make a stop at the famous Crystal Mountain, a ridge laced with sparkling crystals. You will have lunch and make a short tour through the Al Bahariya Oasis. Then you will travel back to Cairo where we will take you to your hotel. This concludes our program and services.
