1^st Day: Cairo – Siwa Oasis

Great Sand Sea -In the early morning we will pick you up at the reception of your hotel in Cairo and you will travel to the Siwa Oasis. If you stay in any other part of Egypt such as Luxor or the Red Sea we can of course organize the transfer to Cairo or directly to the oasis for you.

After arrival you will visit Shali, the old labyrinth-like part of Siwa. Finally you will have dinner and spend the night in a hotel.

Lunch and dinner included. Overnight in Siwa Oasis.

2^nd Day: Siwa Oasis Discovery – Great Sand Sea

After an early breakfast in your hotel we will pick you up and make you discover the extraordinary flair of this vast green area with its lakes and springs amidst the desert and the rock cut tombs on the Mountain of the Dead, containing beautiful paintings as well as well preserved mummies. Then you can swim in Cleopatra’s Bath, a rock pool fed by a natural hot spring and see the Temple of Amun and its famous oracle, once even consulted by Alexander the Great himself. After lunch in a local restaurant you will meet your guides and your future companions, well trained gentle camels. You will now start your safari through the Great Sand Sea. In the late afternoon you will set up camp, and after a tasty dinner you will experience the first night under the clear and starlit desert sky.

3^rd – 6^th Day: Great Sand Sea Camel Safari

During the following days you will feel like a participant of a caravan as you know them from historic books, movies or legends; you will ride with your fellows through the endless sand dunes, make breaks at refreshing springs, pass by amazing rock formations, camp under the stars and eat traditional Arabic food. In this wide quiet area far away from the hustle and bustle and the stressful daily life you will feel really relaxed and you will be truly able to enjoy the beauty of the desert.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight camping.

7^th Day: Great Sand Sea – Siwa Oasis – Cairo

After breakfast you will ride the last leg and arrive back to Siwa. Now it’s time to say good bye to your companions; you will leave the oasis to travel back to Cairo. We will bring you to your hotel. This concludes our program and services.
